Woolworths creates own ATM network
Date:2006-03-17

News.com.au: Woolworths will introduce a national network of its own branded ATMs in supermarkets and bottleshops after striking a deal with ANZ.

The three-year deal, which analysts predict could net $35 million in pre-tax profits, will provide 700 ATMs across Woolworths and Safeway supermarkets, Big W, Dick Smith, Powerhouse and Plus Petrol fuel stations.

Those machines will be co-branded Woolworths Financial Services and ANZ but another 200, destined for bottleshops and hospitality sites, will be branded CashConnect and provided by the Banktech Group.

The move comes with the unwinding of Woolworths Ezy Banking venture with the Commonwealth Bank
