Beijing Tongrentang set up branch in Australia

Chinanews, Sydney, Nov. 18 (By Wang Jinchang) - Beijing Tongrentang Group Corporations first branch in Australia began operation in Sydney today.

Beijing Tongrentang Group Corporation general manager Mei Qun said at the inaugurating ceremony that his company opened a branch in Sydney with an aim to cooperate with Australias traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) circle. Based on providing medical services for overseas Chinese and Asian people in Australia, the branch will expand the Australian TCM market, especially the western mainstream market. Moreover, it will carry forward TCM culture and spread TCM knowledge. Combining Tongrentangs famous brand, well-known doctors and renowned medicines, the branch will benefit the Australian people and boost the internationalization of TCM.

Beijing Tongrentang Group Corporation is a famous time-honored brand established in 1669. Tongrentangs products have won popularity home and abroad for their unique recipes, excellent materials, exquisite techniques and remarkable effect and passed certification of Chinas State Food and Drug Administration and Australias Therapeutic Goods Administration. In order to better serve the Australian market, the Sydney branch located in George Street invited three herbalist experts from Beijing Tongrentang medical center to station in Sydney and team up with a local western healthcare center to provide treatment combining Chinese and western medicine for patients.

Chinese ambassador to Australia Fu Ying, consul general Qiu Shaofang to Sydney, New South Wales (NSW) Premier Morris Iemma and Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore sent letters to congratulate Tongrentangs Australia branch on its opening. Hundreds of guests, including Senator Henry Tsang on behalf of NSW State Health Minister Morris Iemma and Senator Peter Wong, attended the inaugurating ceremony.
